The 18th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) was held in Milano, Italy, from Sunday August 28th to Friday September 2nd, 2011. It was a great privilege for Italy to be for the first time the host country of this prestigious event that brings together all the greatest authorities on automatic control systems. The organizers are happy to announce that there was a worldwide audience of 2826 scientists and engineers from academia and industry coming from 73 Countries, all gathered at the Congress to share their knowledge and latest findings. These pictures were taken at the Milano Congress Center MiCo during the opening day 28 September 2011.

The subsequent days the congress moved to the Catholic University of Milano.
