In 1956 the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) organized at the Museum and Science and Technology of Milan the International Congress
CONVEGNO INTERNAZIONALE SUI PROBLEMI DELL'AUTOMATISMO
with 1061 attendees from 18 Countries. This congress can be seen as the Big-Bang of automatic control in Italy. Half century later, the 50 the anniversary of control was celebrated with an International Congress (having the same title) in the Politecnico di Milano. The third congress of the series is planned for the year 2056.
