Castelfranco Veneto, the city where Jacopo Riccati spent most of his life, has undertaken several initiatives over the years to honor the memory of its illustrious citizen. In 1990, the city organized the conference:The Riccati's and the Culture of the Castelfranco Region in 18-th Century Europe, which was followed by the publication of the conference book (edited by G. Piaia and M.L. Soppelsa) published by Leo S. Olschki Editore. Subsequently, in 2000, the UNESCO international year of mathematics, the Universita' Popolare of Castelfranco promoted the conference: The mathematicans of Castelfranco Veneto (see announcement below).
The conference book was published 17 years later, edited by Mario Beraldo. The book’s publication was celebrated on 20 September 2017 with an event at the Teatro Accademico in Castelfranco Veneto (where the two workshops of 1990 and 2000 also took place).
