On June 2, 2011, Sergio Bittanti went to the Imperial College of London to interview John Westcott, a pioneer of Control Science. In his interview, published in the International Journal of Control, Volume 88, Issue n. 12, 2015, pages 2423 - 2426, he offer us his recollections on the IFAC World Congress of 1960 (the first IFAC World Congress).
Moreover his memory goes back to the Conference on Control Technique held in Heidelberg in 1956. By the way, at the time of this interview, he was the only living signee of the celebrated "resolution for IFAC"
conceived during that memorable event.
