17th IFAC World Congress
Seoul, South Korea, July 2008

On June 2, 2011, Sergio Bittanti went to the Imperial College of London to interview John Westcott, a pioneer of Control Science. In his interview, published in the International Journal of Control, Volume 88, Issue n. 12, 2015, pages 2423 - 2426, he offer us his recollections on the IFAC World Congress of 1960 (the first IFAC World Congress).
Moreover his memory goes back to the Conference on Control Technique held in Heidelberg in 1956. By the way, at the time of this interview, he was the only living signee of the celebrated "resolution for IFAC"
conceived during that memorable event.

In the picture, John Westcott (who died in 2014 at the age of 93) is in the center. To his right, David Mayne, emeritus professor at the Imperial College.
